Overview of Taipei Bodies

The 4 Bodies are represented:
– The Lodge of Perfection (4th to 14th degrees)  
– The Chapter of Rose-Croix (15th to 18th degrees)
– The Council of Kadosh (19th to 30th degrees) 
– The Consistory (31st to 32nd degrees) 

We meet

at the China Masonic Temple every month at 18:30 hours on the 4th Tuesdays, except in July, August and September. All visiting brethren are welcome. Our Valley has presently over 800 active members located mainly in India, Malaysia, Singapore, SriLanka, Taiwan, Thailand and USA. The degrees are conferred every year during two Reunions, in Spring, generally last weekend of April (in Thailand), and in Fall, generally last weekend of September (in Taipei).

Taipei Scottish Rite

Taipei Bodies has four Scottish Rite bodies, and each body confers a set of degrees. In the Southern Jurisdiction, these are:

Lodge of Perfection (4°–14°)

Meets monthly on 4th Tuesdays.

Chapter of Rose Croix (15°–18°)

Meets bimonthly on 4 th Tuesdays of Jan.,
Mar, May,…etc.

Council of Kadosh (19°–30°)

Meets bimonthly on 4 th Tuesdays of
Feb., Apr., June… etc.

Consistory (31°–32°)

Meets quarterly on 4 th Tuesdays of Mar., June and Dec.

Tapei Bodies registered with Ministry of Internal Affair of Repubic of China has marked its 65 years by 2022: Prior to Taipei Bodies, Scottish Rite has previously established Peking Bodies and Shanghai Bodies. 

Nonetheless, both are now in dark with no member of Peking Bodies and only a dozen members of Shanghai Bodies residing in USA

In 1955, after Grand Lodge of China reinstate in Taiwan, Ali Shan Oasis, The Shrine Club of Taiwan were also established and registered with the  Provincial Government of Taiwan. Then it was switched over to the see of the City Government of Taipei.
Under the encouragement of our 2nd Grand master and also member of Shanghai Bodies, MW T. F. Wei, no less than 47 of 32 degree members of Scottish Rite elected the officers of Taipei Bodies on Oct. 22, 1955 at the residence of Bro. A. S. Palmer (first Commander of Council of Kadosh).

 It was also resolved that Bro. Moon Chen, on behalf the Bodies, presented the petition to The Mother Supreme Council. The Mother Supreme Council approved the petition on June 15 1956 and appointed Ill. Bro. Raymond. Bedilion 33° as first Deputy of The Supreme Council in Taiwan & China. Taipei Bodies therefore established on Aug. 15, 1956 and applied for registration in Taipei. In Aug. 1957,
The registration was completed and granted. As Ill. Bedillion, 33° was also Deputies in Japan, Okinawa & Hong Kong, he handed the job over to Ill. Moon Chen, 33°, two years later who held this position until he immigrated to USA in 1977. Ill Chen, 33° is now 99 years old today residing in Maryland, USA and he wrote our history as hereafter quoted and sent over earlier this year. Ill. Ian Lin, 33° succeeded his position until he passed away in 1993. I. Tommy Weng, 33° were then took over the job as you see him today, Il.
Tommy Weng, 33° also got the Grand Cross of the Court of Honour in Oct. 2005 and he is the first Chinese to receive the honour.
